About Me

This page is all about meeeee.

I grew up in Oklahoma, graduating from Oklahoma State University (GO Pokes!) with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science/Child and Family Services. I also have a Master of Science in Educational Leadership Studies and a Master of Education in Special Education/Autism Spectrum Disorders. I work from home full-time as an instructional designer of e-learning.

I have a daughter, Karys (7), and a son, Kai (5). They have made me a better person in every single way and yet I still have so much work to do. We moved to Ohio in 2013, and both of them were assessed for developmental delays shortly after.  They were both officially diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in August 2014.

We are lucky to have amazing family, therapists, teachers, and doctors that support us everyday, but I know not all families are so lucky. I created this blog to help spread awareness and to help share important, helpful resources for families that need them. There is a section that lists available grants for families that need assistance paying for therapies, medical treatments, etc. I do not qualify myself as a therapist or doctor, but I will help you find information on interventions and offer tips on everything I have learned along the way as a mom.

My kids and I use everyday experiences as therapy and we treat every outing as an adventure. Please feel free to follow our journey!

Love, k.
